{"id":26336,"date":"2021-04-14T13:15:30","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T11:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/?p=26336"},"modified":"2021-07-07T20:16:07","modified_gmt":"2021-07-07T18:16:07","slug":"celebration-of-world-engineering-day-by-unesco-jakarta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/celebration-of-world-engineering-day-by-unesco-jakarta\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebration of World Engineering Day by UNESCO Jakarta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/UNESCO-Jakarata-WED-2021.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"940\" height=\"677\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/UNESCO-Jakarata-WED-2021.png 940w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/UNESCO-Jakarata-WED-2021-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/UNESCO-Jakarata-WED-2021-768x553.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/jakarta\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">UNESCO Regional Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Jakarta<\/a>, in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aeeseap.net\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Association for Engineering Education in Southeast Asia and the Pacific (AEESEAP)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pii.or.id\/#en\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII)<\/a>, organised an online event to celebrate World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development on 4 March 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The event was a follow-up to the meeting held on 3 November 2020 exploring possible collaborations between the three institutions to strengthen the engineering value chain in Asia and the Pacific, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iti.ac.id\/2020-aeeseap-workshop-enhancing-engineering-value-chain\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">2020 AEESEAP Workshop \u201cEnhancing Engineer Value Chain\u201d<\/a> in October 2020 on how engineering education and professional competency development can further improve global engineer collaboration to support sustainable and inclusive economic advancement. <\/p>\n<p>The online event was the regional celebration of the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific since its declaration in 2019. Eight international experts discussed and exchanged their perspectives on raising awareness and promoting services of engineering to society.<\/p>\n<p>The event also provided an occasion and a platform to raise awareness of the engineering value chain, to increase the engineering sector\u2019s visibility and regional collaboration for an accelerated transition to a knowledge-based society through the delivery of Agenda 2030 in the Asia Pacific region. More than 330 participants joined the online session.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of UNESCO Jakarta, Dr Shahbaz Khan, and the President of AEESEAP and PII, Dr Heru Dewanto, delivered their remarks to welcome the panellists and the participants.
