Papias Kazawadi<\/i><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe theme of the Conference was &#8220;Unleashing opportunities in the AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area) implementation&#8221; and the delegates realized that, without proper partnership models with the AfCFTA, robust frameworks for engineering education and practice informed by accurate data of engineering capabilities, quality and quantity of human capital needs required to achieve the <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/en\/agenda2063\/overview\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">African Union Agenda 2063<\/a> and other developmental aspirations, economic development will be impossible in developing countries, especially Africa. The delegates agreed with the Presidents focus areas and declared the following focus areas for FAEO for 2023-2024:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Institutional reforms<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing Partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Digitalization as a game changer<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing Equality Diversity and inclusion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1800\" height=\"1200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_8544-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px\" \/><br \/>\n<i>WFEO President-Elect Mustafa Shehu<\/i><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDelegates at the 2023 FAEO Conference and investiture ceremony resolved to closely lobby to work with the <a href=\"https:\/\/au.int\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">African Union<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/au-afcfta.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AfCFTA<\/a> and other Governments in Africa to achieve the goals and objectives of FAEO.<br \/>\nGoodwill messages were received from: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eng. Prof Jose Vieira, the President of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO);  <\/li>\n<li>Eng. Jorge Abramian, President of the World Council of Civil Engineers;  <\/li>\n<li>Academician Prof. Huang Wei, President of the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP);  <\/li>\n<li>Eng.
