WFEO Secretariat wishes to inform you about the excellent news concerning our Federation’s approval as a Member of UN Water<\/a> and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following an application which was sent to UN Water last December, under the leadership of our Executive Board<\/a> and of our Committee on Water<\/a>. It is also a reward for our strategic decision to create a Working Group on Water in 2019, and to promote it to STC in 2021. We are grateful to our national members for Spain (Instituto de la Ingenieria de Espa\u00f1a<\/a>) and for Portugal (Ordem dos Engenheiros<\/a>) for their support to the Committee.<\/p>\n

Also during this Summer, we received confirmation of WFEO’s approval as a Member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This follows the application which was prepared by WFEO Secretariat in March, after a WFEO delegation visited the ITU Director General<\/a> in Geneva last October.<\/p>\n

Those new status are an addition to WFEO’s growing number of official status or cooperation frameworks with UN agencies and programs, and will help strengthen our contribution to the 2030 Agenda, in two very important fields of action.
