The 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference was held in Beijing between 25 and 29 April 2024 with the theme “Innovating for a Better World” attracting over 150 foreign government departments and international organizations from more than 100 countries and regions. <\/p>\n
The Forum was sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the national member of WFEO, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).

\nWFEO President Mustafa addressed the opening ceremony, highlighting the crucial role of innovation in fostering sustainable development. He emphasized technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Clean Energy as essential for developing “New Quality Productive Forces.” President Shehu also underscored the WFEO’s commitment to ethical engineering standards, global co-governance, and enhancing engineering education, particularly in developing regions. <\/p>\n
In his speech, President Shehu stressed the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges such as climate change and conflicts. He called on participants to work together, transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions for global betterment.<\/p>\n
During the forum, President Shehu met with key Chinese officials, including YIN Li, Party secretary of Beijing Municipality, and YIN Yong, Mayor of Beijing, strengthening ties between WFEO and China’s engineering community. He also attended Zhongguancun Global High-Level Think Tank Forum for Science & Technology Innovation and World Digital Health Forum.

\nDuring the visit, President Shehu also engaged in discussions with the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) leadership. He also visited Nankai University, where he met with university officials to discuss ongoing and future collaborations, emphasizing mutual efforts in engineering capacity building and alignment with global development strategies.
