{"id":40791,"date":"2024-10-11T17:08:23","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T15:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/?p=40791"},"modified":"2024-11-27T12:04:32","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T11:04:32","slug":"appointment-of-marie-line-vaiani-to-the-council-of-engineers-for-the-energy-transition-ceet-united-nations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/appointment-of-marie-line-vaiani-to-the-council-of-engineers-for-the-energy-transition-ceet-united-nations\/","title":{"rendered":"Appointment of Marie-Line Vaiani to the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET), United Nations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Marie-Line_Vaiani_CEET.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"701\" height=\"583\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40843\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Marie-Line_Vaiani_CEET.png 701w, https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Marie-Line_Vaiani_CEET-300x250.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to announce that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/committee-energy-chair\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marie-Line Vaiani<\/a>, Chair of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfeo.org\/committee-energy\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Energy Committee of the  World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO)<\/a> and Secretary General of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldenergy.org\/world-energy-community\/members\/entry\/france\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">French Energy Council<\/a>, has been appointed as a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unido.org\/CEET\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The CEET is an international high-level body under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General that contributes to the UN Secretary-General\u2019s goal of building a coalition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and advises the UN on engineering strategies to achieve full decarbonization by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>The CEET was launched in September 2021 by Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and is co-chaired by Gerd M\u00fcller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).<\/p>\n<p>The CEET\u2019s main activities include: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>addressing the challenges of scaling key technologies for the energy transition;
