After nine previous successful offerings and more than 10,000 participants worldwide, Engineers Canada<\/a> and Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al<\/a> have opened registration for a tenth offering of their free online course, Sustainability in Practice<\/a>. The massive open online course is offered in both English<\/a> and French<\/a> and uses real-life case studies from across Canada to demonstrate the practical application of WFEO\u2019s 10 principles of sustainable development and environmental stewardship for engineers.<\/p>\n

It will show real case studies illustrating practical applications of the 10 guidelines contained in Engineers Canada\u2019s 10 principles of sustainable development and environmental stewardship for engineers<\/a>, which is the Canadian adoption of the WFEO Code of Practice for Sustainable Development and Environmental Stewardship<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Sustainability in Practice originally launched in 2018, and since then, has seen participants who are engineers and non-engineers alike, and who work in a range of industries, including in consulting engineering, government, education, construction, manufacturing, education, oil and gas, renewable resources, utilities, mining, and non-governmental organizations. <\/p>\n

The tenth edition of Sustainability in Practice begins October 23, 2024<\/b>. Participants have until December 13, 2024<\/b>, to complete the course at their own pace. An optional Certificate of Completion is available following successful completion of the course at a cost of US$75.
