The International Programme Office of WFEO Engineering Capacity Building for Africa Programme (ECBAP)<\/a>, in collaboration with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK)<\/a>, successfully carried out the first pilot training program from 10 to 14 March 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya. <\/p>\n

The five-day intensive training session, themed at \u201cAI for Engineers\u201d<\/i>, was exclusively designed for IEK member engineers, with 57 participants selected on a first-come, first-served basis following an open call for applications. The training was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, with all participants actively engaging in the sessions and successfully completing the programme. IEK currently has a membership of 12,000 engineers, and this initiative represents the first of many capacity-building efforts under ECBAP.

With 20 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, he combines academic insight with industry practices. Other instructors include Selina Atwani Ochukut, Edna Milgo, and Evans Miriti, all of whom have extensive teaching and practical experience in the field of AI.
