The Press Conference on the 11th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week and 9th Africa Engineering Conference took place at the Kampala Media Centre in Uganda on 6 August 2025.<\/p>\n

This prestigious event is being organised by the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE) in collaboration with UNESCO, the Federation of African Engineering Organisations (FAEO), and the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO). Together, we unite under a shared vision \u2014 to harness the power of engineering to accelerate Africa\u2019s transformation.

\nThis year\u2019s gathering is more than a conference \u2014 it is a movement of minds and machines<\/b>, a platform where tradition meets transformation, and where Africa boldly asserts its engineering voice in a rapidly changing global landscape.<\/p>\n

The conference is anchored on the theme: \u201cLeveraging Engineering Innovations and Technology to Accelerate Africa\u2019s Socio\u2013Economic Transformation\u201d<\/b>. This theme speaks to our collective mission \u2014 to move beyond rhetoric and focus on practical, scalable, and sustainable engineering solutions that will shape Africa\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on a Decade of Impact<\/h4>\n

As we approach the 11th edition of Africa Engineering Week (AEW), it is with great pride that we celebrate over a decade of engineering excellence, innovation, and transformative collaboration across the continent.<\/p>\n

AEW was inaugurated in September 2014 in Johannesburg<\/b>, South Africa, under the bold theme \u201cEngineering is a Life Changer!\u201d<\/b> Since then, the event has grown into a vibrant platform, uniting engineers, governments, academia, youth, the private sector and development partners to align engineering with Africa\u2019s growth aspirations.<\/p>\n
